It is important for parents and communities to be involved in educating our students. Parent involvement can affect grades, drop-out rates and students behaviors. Parents should get their kids involved in sports to give their student something to work toward. It can also help them to get into colleges. When parents do not encourage students to do well in school it shows in the community as well. There is higher crime rates and gangs.
Communities can become involved in educating students through programs to support reading such as, our area Pizza hut would give personal pan pizzas to students for reading books. McDonalds also gives coupons for cones, sundaes and hamburger meals for good behaviors.
